| Iran marks Children's Day |

Children's day is celebrated on various days in many places around the world, to honor children globally. Hundreds of children, boys and girls, all first grade elementary school students participated in the celebrations in Iran's capital.
Holding a dolls festival in Tehran with participation of the city's municipality, has been one of activities to mark this day. Tehran's cultural art center had a variety of activities for kids such as face painting, puppet shows and craft shows.
This occasion was established by the UN in 1954 to encourage all countries to institute a day, firstly to promote understanding among children and secondly to initiate action to benefit and promote the welfare of the world's children.
Parallel celebrations were also held in other districts of Tehran as well as across the country.
